Obituary for Jean Connolly (Rasmussen)

Jean Connolly, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 23, 2014 at Kennedy University Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Born in Trenton, she was a resident of Crosswicks for 58 years before moving to Chesterfield. Jean was a proud parishioner of St. Maryâs Roman Catholic Church volunteering each Sunday to count the weekly collection. She was also a past member of the St. Maryâs Altar Rosary Society and a Past President of the Crosswicks Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included playing BINGO, crocheting and embroidery, but the greatest joy in her life was her family. She was a devoted wife of 61 years, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, caring friend and all will miss her.

The daughter of the late George and Phyllis Rasmussen, she is predeceased by her brothers, Norman, Charles and William Rasmussen, and her twin sister, Joan Hughes. She is survived by her beloved husband, James Connolly, Sr., her loving children, Kathleen (John) Gola, Ann Marie Connolly, James Jr. (Valerie) Connolly, Eileen (Sean) Sheehy, John Connolly, Michael (Corrie) Connolly, and Colleen Connolly (Glenn Scherer), her grandchildren Jason Gola Jared Gola Kristie Gola Juliet Nussbaum James Connolly III Jessica Williamson Ethan Sheehy Kyle Sheehy Cindy Connolly Matthew Connolly Elly Scherer , her great-grandchildren AJ Gola, Siera Connolly, Lee Williamson, Jr. Jackson Williamson Cody Williamson, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Church or Poor Clare Monastery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 27th 2014 11am at St. Maryâs Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 ~ 8 pm with the Rosary recited at 6:00pm and on Wednesday morning from 9:30 ~ 10:30am at the Funeral Home.
