Obituary for William F Yaworski

William “Bill” Yaworski, of Florence, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Hamilton, NJ. He was surrounded by loving family members. Bill was born in Mt. Holly, NJ, in 1934, and was a lifelong resident of Burlington County, NJ, living in Burlington, Fieldsboro, Chesterfield, and Florence.

Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 40 years, Diane. Bill was an active father, stepfather, and grandfather to three children, Joann Yaworski, Billy Yaworski, and David Yaworski, of Philadelphia, Pa., three stepchildren, Scott Borden, of Ewing, NJ, Kevin Borden, of Coatesville, Pa., and Debra Borden-Rabatie, of Roebling, NJ, and eight grandchildren, Carmella and Gianna Yaworski, Ethan and Luke Borden, Shane and Logan Rabatie, and Kylie and Moss Borden. “Poppy,” as Bill was known to his grandchildren, enjoyed his role as grandfather and loved to take them boating, swimming, and out to lunch and dinner. He was always “handy” and repaired many cars and household items for family members and build swing-sets and Pinewood Derby Cars for the eager grandchildren. He often presided over the grill at large family BBQ’s, singing, telling stories, and watching adults and children swim, play games, enjoy a meal, and laugh. In fact, he often caused the laughter! Many fun summer days and evenings were spent, and delightful memories made, in his backyard and pool.

Bill loved the Delaware River and spent many years of his youth and adulthood enjoying it through boating and fishing. He was a proud veteran of the Army, serving overseas, and building many friendships. Always a hard worker, Bill was employed as a machinist for over 30 years at Public Service Electric & Gas, retiring from the company where he built life-long relationships, many of whom he continued to stay in touch with to the present day.
