Obituary for Bill E Bott

William E “Bill” Bott, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 26, 2023 with his loving wife by his side.

Born in Trenton, resided in Roebling/ Florence community for 30 years before moving to Columbus.

Bill enlisted in The United States Navy in 1951 and served during the Korean War, he was honorably discharged in 1955.

After the war Bill was employed with Heinemann Electric Co as a Warehouse Manager, retiring after 35 years of service, he worked for U S Govt Gsa Northeast Distribution Center in Florence township, the NJ Turnpike Authority, and finally as the head custodian which he would refer to himself as the “Top Mop” for the Florence Township Board of Education.

He was a lifelong Catholic, and devoted member of Mary Mother of the Church in Bordentown, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Usher for both Holy Assumption and St. Mary’s locations. He was a longtime brother of the Knights of Columbus Bordentown Council 570. He was a member of the Florence American Legion Post 194 and the Florence Republican Club. Bill was very active in community committees, he served on the Florence Township Shade Tree and Environmental Committee, the Zoning Board and was appointed as Commissioner of the Burlington County Housing Authority. For 30 years Bill ran the MDA Tela-thon in Quakerbridge. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending his days at Long Beach Island surf fishing.

The son of the late Harold and Mary Bott, he is predeceased by his brother, Carl Bott, he is survived by his wife, Judy Bott, his children, Connie and (John) Terlecki, Barbara and (David) Ciringione, his grandchildren, Ryan and (Amy) Terlecki, JJ and (Liz) Terlecki, Nicole and (Mark) Cedeno, David Ciringione, his great grandchildren, Gianna, Ava, Carter, Jackson, Phoebe “PJ”, Ricky, his great grandson Juni, his sister-in-law, Evelyn Bott, his niece, Patti Koons, his nephew, Carl Bott Jr.

At the family’s request in lieu of flowers donation may be made in Bill’s name to the Animal Welfare Association, 509 Centennial Blvd, Voorhees NJ 08043.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday April 1, 2023 11:00am at Mary Mother of the Church Parish 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown NJ 08505. Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Bordentown Home for funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ 08505. Interment will be private.
