Obituary for Toni A. Laba (Dorio)

Surrounded by love, Toni A. Laba, wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, passed away after a very brief illness on November 3, 2019. Living a life of joy and service, Toni possessed a work ethic beyond compare. Whether working for her career or for charitable causes, Toni was the go to woman to get things done and done well.

Toni grew up in Clark, NJ and graduated A.L. Johnson High school. She began her careers at a travel agency in Clark, NJ and quickly became a Certified Travel Agent at City Travel, New York City, easily transitioning from family to corporate travel. Moving on to a career in computers, Toni studied at Union County College and Chubb Institute. Her next position was at Hapag-Lloyd America, Inc. on Staten Island. This was her luckiest position because it was there she met the love of her life, her husband, Stephen Laba. They have lived in Bordentown, NJ for 26 years. Her career continued at Bell Atlantic Enterprises, General Financial Assurance, and then Bristol Myers Squibb. Not to be limited, Toni also worked at Wegman’s mastering the art of cheese using her sparkling personality to connect people and food. Her most fulfilling job was mother to her son, Clarke, a Clemson University graduate, who remarkably worked in the same group with Toni at Bristol Meyers Squibb. A woman of deep faith Toni was an Extraordinary Minister and for years a devoted parishioner of Saint Mary’s, in Bordentown. Toni enjoyed music, travel, dancing, and her pets. Her generosity knew no bounds and she enlivened every gathering with her laughter and joie de vivre.

Toni is survived by her husband, Steve, her son, Clarke, her sisterJo-Ann Dorio-Fyne, her brother Ralph Dorio and his wife Cindy, her youngest sister, Bobbi Dorio, her husband Anthony Abarno and their 3 children including AJ, her Godson, her sisters-in-law Christa Kral and Leslie Maguire, brother-in-law Thomas Laba and his wife, Karen, along with aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
