Surrounded by love, Toni A. Laba, wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, passed away after a very brief illness on November 3, 2019. Living a life of joy and service, Toni possessed a work ethic beyond compare. Whether working for her career or for charitable causes, Toni was the go to woman to get things done and done well.

Toni grew up in Clark, NJ and graduated A.L. Johnson High school. She began her careers at a travel agency in Clark, NJ and quickly became a Certified Travel Agent at City Travel, New York City, easily transitioning from family to corporate travel. Moving on to a career in computers, Toni studied at Union County College and Chubb Institute. Her next position was at Hapag-Lloyd America, Inc. on Staten Island. This was her luckiest position because it was there she met the love of her life, her husband, Stephen Laba. They have lived in Bordentown, NJ for 26 years. Her career continued at Bell Atlantic Enterprises, General Financial Assurance, and then Bristol Myers Squibb. Not to be limited, Toni also worked at Wegman’s mastering the art of cheese using her sparkling personality to connect people and food. Her most fulfilling job was mother to her son, Clarke, a Clemson University graduate, who remarkably worked in the same group with Toni at Bristol Meyers Squibb. A woman of deep faith Toni was an Extraordinary Minister and for years a devoted parishioner of Saint Mary’s, in Bordentown. Toni enjoyed music, travel, dancing, and her pets. Her generosity knew no bounds and she enlivened every gathering with her laughter and joie de vivre.

Toni is survived by her husband, Steve, her son, Clarke, her sisterJo-Ann Dorio-Fyne, her brother Ralph Dorio and his wife Cindy, her youngest sister, Bobbi Dorio, her husband Anthony Abarno and their 3 children including AJ, her Godson, her sisters-in-law Christa Kral and Leslie Maguire, brother-in-law Thomas Laba and his wife, Karen, along with aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be at the Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ on Thursday, November 7, 5:00-9:00PM and Friday morning 9:30-10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 8, at 11:00 at Saint Raphael-Holy Angels Parish, 3500 S. Broad Street, Hamilton Township. Donations in Toni’s name can be made to the Humane Society or Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Steve, Clark & Family,
We are saddened by the loss of Toni. She was an Amazing person, who always had a big smile to share with you.
She made you like family even if she just met you. We had so many fun times watching our boys play baseball &
cheering them on. Her Kindness will be missed by all who knew her. She will be in our prayers daily.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Frank, Debbie, Frankie & Nicky Bilancio

More than 40 years ago our families were joined through the marriage of a brother and sister. That was the first of many family celebrations we shared and now gratefully recall. I will always remember Toni’s warmth and humor as we gathered around our extended family table catching up on each other’s lives. It was from Toni that I first learned of Wegmans, a store we did not have in Raleigh until very recently. I meant to tell her how excited I was to shop there for the 1st time last month. I will always think of Toni and smile whenever I see or hear the name Wegmans. Thank you, Toni, for bringing me joy in that everlasting way. I know I’m one of many to whom you brought joy by knowing you. Donna Lowell

Toni and I shared a love of salt water taffy and brought different types in from vacations to the office. It was great having that experience with her and she will be greatly missed. She had a great sense of humor.

Toni was my first best friend. She and I had so many adventures together there is not room enough to recount them all. She was loyal, loving, generous and funny. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, you were lucky enough. She will forever be in my heart.
