Obituary for Thomas Jellick

Thomas Jellick, passed away peacefully on Sunday February 13, 2022. Born in Republic PA., he was a longtime resident of the Wrightstown community. At the age of 16, Thomas enlisted in The United States Army. Because he was underage, the Army sent him back home. Thomas waited until he reached the legal age and then re-enlisted. At the end of his enlistment with the Army, Thomas enlisted in The United States Air Force, serving in “Country” during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force in 1973 after over 22 years of service. Thomas accepted a job as a postman in the Bordentown Post Office. He retired in 1995 after 20 years of dedicated service.

He was a member and past Chaplin of the VVA 899, the American Legion and VFW Cookstown, Disabled American Veterans, Thomas enjoyed fishing, gardening, all types of music and the outdoors. But his greatest joy in life was his family.

Son of the late John and Teresa Jellick, he is predeceased but his sibling’s, Valentine Jellick, Marie Girgus and Andrew Spike. He is survived by his beloved wife, Genevieve J. Jellick, his loving children, Barry Jellick and (Lisa Openshaw), Teresa Jellick and (Drew LaFrennie), Helen Jellick and husband (Gary Liedtke) his granddaughter, Olivia LaFrennie, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday February 24, 2022, 11:00 am at Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St., Bordentown NJ 08505. Calling hours will be held Thursday morning from 10:00 am until time of Service. Burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ.
