Dateline Ewing
Thomas J. Balint, passed away peacefully on Friday April 3, 2020 at his home with his beloved wife holding his hand.
Born in Trenton, Tom was a lifelong member of the Ewing Community.
At a young age, Tom’s belief was to make this world a better place by helping his community, and on September 23 1963 Tom became a police officer with the Ewing Township Police Department Badge #31. Tom had a 38 year career in law enforcement serving in many aspects of his department including as the Emergency Management Coordinator. He retired in 1999 after reaching the rank of Captain. While serving as a police officer, Tom was a volunteer fireman of The Prospect Heights Vol. Fire Company #1 Station 31. He was a Past President of the Fire Department and recently received his pin for 60 years of dedicated serve to the department.
He served as Past President of the NJ State Fraternal Order of Police. Tom was a Life member and Past Exalted Ruler of the BPOE Trenton Elks Lodge 105 and served as Past Vice President and Past District Deputy for the Southwest District.
Son of the late John and Anne Balint, he is survived by his beloved wife, Erica “ Barbara” Balint and many loving friends.
