Obituary for Susan Climati

Susan Climati, passed away peacefully on Friday February 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving daughters. Born in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Olimpio and Pasqua Mercantini. Susan graduated from Hamilton High West in 1946. She married Milton Climati and helped run the family-owned Ave Maria Shop for decades in downtown Trenton. Susan and her husband raised their three children in West Trenton, where they loved throwing bbq’s, pool parties and entertaining their friends and family. Later in life, she moved to Columbus, NJ where she resided across the street from her childhood friend, Barbara DeMarco.

Susan was a proud parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Bordentown and was a member of the Morning Star House of Prayer group. She loved adventuring all over the country with Milton in their motorhome and later in life enjoyed traveling with her close friends. Susan’s greatest joy in life was her family and friends. She was a devoted, loving mother, grand-mother, great grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Milton A. Climati, her son, Terrence Climati, her sisters Diana Marino and Nancy Harbist and her lifelong friend Barbara DeMarco. She is survived by her loving daughters Susan Mancino and Patricia Culkin, her grandchildren, Blaine Climati, Matthew and (Meg) Culkin, Anthony and (Em) Mancino, Danielle Culkin and (John Reaves), Andrew and (Phallon) Culkin, Amanda and (C.J.) Prettyman, her great-grandchildren, Finley and Bodhi Culkin, Addison and Landon Prettyman, Sabine Mancino, and many nephews, nieces and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 26, 2022, 11:00 am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church 45 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ 08505. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning 9:00 - 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hamilton.
