Obituary for Peter A. Losinno

Peter A. Losinno, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 25 2022.

Peter was born in Brooklyn, NY where he resided until relocating to Columbus NJ in 1999. He loved his Park Slope neighborhood growing up, and the nearby Brooklyn Dodgers. He attended Manual Training HS and Long Island University.

He was drafted during WWII, honorably serving for 18 months. He returned to service in 1967, proudly serving as an Army Reservist for 20 years and retiring with the rank of Sergeant Major. He also had a 29-year civilian career with the Department of the Army.

His passions were classic movies and music; he cherished his re-cord collection and possessed an almost encyclopedic knowledge of big band leaders and jazz musicians, actors and actresses. His other hobby was photography; he almost always had a camera with him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Carol (née Grippo); sons, Vincent and Peter; daughter-in-law, Roseann; grandchildren, Joseph, Jennifer and Christina; sister, Carmela Iacullo; brother Joseph; extended family and dear friends. Among Peter’s favorite ti-mes were those spent in the company of these loved ones.

Peter loved children and was a long-time supporter of St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Memorial contributions in his name sake may be sent there.

A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 22, 2022, 11:00 am at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church. 269 Parkville Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11230.
