Michael J. Ward, DMD, 71, of Bordentown, NJ, passed away suddenly on June 9th. Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, he was a graduate of Cathedral High School, St. Joseph’s University, and the NJ College of Medicine and Dentistry. He practiced dentistry in Bordentown for 25 years. After retiring, he continued his education and received a master’s degree in mathematics from Rutgers University-Camden, teaching there until 2015. Most recently, he tutored students at BCC Rowan through their volunteer tutoring program. He was the son of Edwin and Eileen Ward. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to Sally Ward (nee Bentz), loving father of Dr. Michael Ward, Jr. (Megan), Timothy Ward (Alison), and Christopher Ward, and grandfather to Olivia and Alaina Ward. He is also survived by sisters Dorothy (Tom) Toth, Susan Ward, Eileen Ward, Ellen Ward, and his brother Edwin Ward (Carolyn), his brother-in-law George Bentz, sisters-in-law Rosemarie Fitzpatrick and Karen Bentz, and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces.
Condolences can be paid to the family on Sunday, June 13th at Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St., in Bordentown, NJ, between 6-8 p.m., ending with a brief service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dr. Ward’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society, two charities important to the family.
