Obituary for Mary Jane Wade

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Mary Jane “Ginger” Wade announce her passing at the age 85. On Thursday May 5th, 2022, she was surrounded by loving children and grandchildren when God welcomed her into Heaven.

She was born and raised in Plainfield NJ where her ever-loving parents, Joseph and Anastasia Pope, raised a family of 7 children, spending magical memorable summers on the water’s edge of Seaside Park, exemplifying her catchphrase: we didn’t have much, but we had it all.

Ginger was an incredible humanitarian who lived her life serving others. Her career in nursing touched countless patients in the Children’s Specialized Hospital and Runnells Specialized Hospital. She served the Lord through her Eucharistic ministry. Wholeheartedly, she served her family, providing knowledge, encouragement and a positive inspiration commendable by no other…. With a special driving need and passion to serve the underserved: the underdogs.

Ginger spent her leisure years as a “gypsy” camping out and bringing joy, love, and laughter to her children’s homes. She enjoyed being involved with her grandkid's activities and sporting events. As a child, ski trips to Vermont were cherished. A journey to shop for deals and treasures led her to fun adventures at garage sales, thrift shops and dollar stores.

Ginger was greeted into the Gates of Heaven by her loving husband of 44 years, Christoper “Kit” Wade Jr and joining her mother and father (Joseph and Anastasia Pope), and siblings Albert, Dickie, Marion, and Joey

The memory of Ginger will continue to live on through her daughter Sharon Forte, husband Lou, daughter Pam Swain, husband Tim, daughter Alison Braunstein, husband Charles and her son Chris and wife Colleen. Grandchildren carrying her torch are Melissa Zoladkiewicz, husband Joe, Meghan & Joe Forte, Ryan, Spencer & Nicholas Swain, Stephen, Sara, Michael Braunstein, Christoper, Matthew & Kate Wade and great grandchildren Madison (aka MJ, a Mary Jane namesake) and Tommy, along with siblings Billy Pope and Stasia Konick and many cherished niec-es, nephews and cousins.

Charitable donations to Elks Camp Moore are appreciated and near and dear to Ginger and family
