Obituary for Mary Jane Rooney

Mary Jane McDonagh Rooney, 80, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2023 at the Masonic village in Burlington with her loving family by her side.

Mary was employed as an X-Ray technician at various local facilities, such as: Mercer Hospital, several Correctional facilities and Johnstone Training and Research Center in Bordentown. Mary Jane organized many functions for the Elks, including Ladies Gourmet.

Daughter of the late William and Mary McDonagh; wife of the late Malcolm Rooney, whom she shared a 32-yearloving and incredible marriage.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and Chris Bell, Shannon and Jun Ramirez and her son Shane Rooney. She lived for her beloved grandchildren, Joel and Alexis Ramirez and Jade Ramirez. Madison, Conor, and Tyler Bell, Skylor and Sawyer Rooney, a beautiful great granddaughter Avery Ramirez Jane cherished every holiday, birthday, family and friend gatherings when everyone was together.

She loved the company of her grandchildren. Whether it be the soccer field, basketball court, or baseball field Nan never missed a game. She was affectionately called “Nan” by many of their teammates and friends.
When she wasn’t cheering for her grandchildren at their games, she enjoyed watching Hallmark movies.

Mary Jane adored her partner-in-crime relationship with her cousin Jackie Reed. They enjoyed their nights out having cocktails and spending time together.

A Celebration of Mary Jane’s Life will be held on Friday March 3, 2023 7:00pm at the Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown NJ 08505. A Gathering of family and friends will be held Friday evening 6:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Jane's memory to the St. Jude Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place
