Obituary for Louis C Kocsis III

Roebling – Louis C. Kocsis III, 75 passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2022 with his loving family by his side.

Born in Trenton, he was an active lifelong resident of the Roebling community. Louis was drafted into The United States Army and served in Vietnam; he was Honorably Discharged in 1971. He was a member Florence Station Fire Co. #2 and Florence Township Police Reserves. Louis then began his career with the State of New Jersey as a Senior Corrections Police Officer, retiring in 2004 after 20 years of dedicated service. He was proud to be a Life Member with the VVA Chapter 899; serving as the clubs “Sgt of Arms”, Burlington County FOP Lodge #2, a Life member of the NJ American Legion Post 39, Roebling, NJ and the Opre-Larsons VFW Post 8838.

Louis will be remembered for his easy-going nature, quiet silliness, pride in his country, and his unwavering love and devotion to his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 42 years, Deborah Kocsis, his loving children, Corrinne and (Timothy) Hatcher, Jill Kocsis, David Kocsis, his special niece and honorary daughter, Linea Chanti, his darling grandson, Trent Hatcher, his sister, Linda Kocsis, his favorite furry companion, Ranger, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louis’s name to the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 899 PO Box 263 Bordentown, NJ 08505.

A Celebration of Louis’s Life will be held on Wednesday November 2, 2022, 10:00 am at the Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 ~8:00 pm and Wednesday morning 9:00 am until time of Service. Burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ.
