Obituary for John J. Wille

John J. Wille, Ph.D. passed away peacefully on February 23rd. Dr. Wille graduated from Cornell University in 1960, obtained his doctorate in genetics from Indiana University in 1965, did post-graduate research work at Argonne National Lab, worked in Experimental Pathology at the Mayo Clinic, was a professor of cell biology at the University of Cincinnati and Louisiana State University, and retired from Bristol-Myers Squibb/Convetec as Director of R&D.
After retirement Dr. Wille remained active in the skin care field. As a nationally recognized expert in wound and skin care, he had been a presenter at national and international meetings and symposia, owned his own skin care company, published more than 200 research papers, wrote 12 book chapters and 1 book and holds 15 U.S. patents.
He was affiliated with the Society of Dermatologists, Wound Healing Society, and the Cosmetic Chemical Society.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Myra L. Wille, four children and 7 grandchildren.
