Obituary for John I Griffin

John I. Griffin, 82, beloved husband of Margaret P. Griffin, passed away on November 8, 2022 from Parkinson’s Disease. John was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, the son of Andrew and Beatrice Griffin, and brother of Ray and Patti Griffin Honeycutt who all predeceased him.

John was the loving stepfather of David, Riley and Emily Berton Renna, and the grandfather of Max and Maggie Berton, Fionn and Taigh Berton, and Nico and Gabby Renna. John spent a great deal of his time caring for and loving his grandchildren. They were the true loves of his life.

He also leaves behind his daughters-in-law Heather Cheesman and Sarah McEwan, and sons-in-law Nick Renna and Jason Ispanky. As well, he leaves behind his brother-in-law Reverend Jerry Honeycutt, and nieces and nephews Judy Carty, Jerianne Moore, and Joe Honeycutt, and their families.

John was a proud member of Bordentown Elks Lodge and a former member of the Bordentown Yacht Club. He retired from IBM in 2001.

John’s favorite saying was “Life is good” and he strove to make that true for everyone around him. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held on Monday November 21, 2022 11:00 am at the Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Calling hours will be held Monday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the Service. Burial will be private.
