Obituary for Joan Clare Czuhai
Joan Clare Herron Czuhai of Bordentown, New Jersey passed away peacefully on January 12, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Joan was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. James Herron of Bordentown, New Jersey. Dr. Herron was a former mayor of Bordentown City and an active member in the community. Like her father, Joan adored her hometown and the many people that she called friends and family. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Bordentown City. She was also a member of the Hope Hose Auxiliary and the Bordentown Elks. Joan also spent many years working for the Bordentown School District as a school aide at the Clara Barton School and served on the election board.
Joan was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Gavin of San Francisco. She is survived by her loving husband, George Czuhai, their two sons; Michael Czuhai of Bordentown, James Czuhai of Boston, her sister Ann Purcell of Texas, her three grandchildren from Michigan; Christina Beach and her husband David, Rebecca Grooters, and Michael Czuhai, her three great-grandchildren; Zachary, Hayden, and Haley, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.
