Obituary for Hugh W. Maguire III
Hugh W. Maguire III, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2022. Born September 14, 1932, in Trenton, NJ and raised in the Bromley section of Hamilton. He attended St. Joe’s elementary school and Trenton Catholic HS. Hugh served in The United States Marine Corps from 1951-54; receiving a Purple Heart during the Korean War. He continued his military service in The United States Marine Corps Reserves until 1959. He was a partner in the Maguire and Burke Agency, and Hugh Maguire Broker and Insurance.
He was predeceased by his wife, of 61 years, Dorothy Maguire, his sister Patricia “Pat” Moon and his brother James “Jim” Maguire. He is survived by his son, Hugh W. Maguire, IV (Sarah), his daughter, Sharon Maguire, his sister, Audry Casale, his granddaughter, Chelsea Maguire and nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Hugh’s name to Wounded Warriors Project, 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256.
Internment at Brig Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery will be private.
