Obituary for Georgette Bontya

Georgette E. Bontya, aged 69, passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side on September 27, 2021.

A longtime resident of both Murrells Inlet, SC and Bordentown, NJ, Georgette was born in Teaneck, NJ, daughter of the late Max Aurich and the late Juel Pfohl.

In addition to her parents, Georgette was preceded in death by her brother, Gerald Aurich; sister and brother-in-law, Regina and James J. Carr Jr.; parents-in-law, George and Mary Bontya; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Marylou Noble. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, George; her children, Michele (and Kevin) Thiel and Andrea Bontya; her grandchildren, Austin and Alexis Thiel; many extended family; and cherished friends. Georgette was a lifetime member of the Murrells Inlet Post 30 Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed her weekly game nights and traveling the country with her husband.


A Celebration of Georgette’s Life will be held on Friday October 8, 2021 12:00 pm at the Bordentown Home for Funerals 40 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ 08505. Calling hours will be held on Friday morning from 10am until the time of service.

Burial is scheduled for Monday, October 11th; anyone wishing to attend should meet at 1:15pm at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery (830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940).
