Obituary for George Edward Koenig Jr.

George Edward Koenig Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 28, 2022 in his 80th year.

He was born in Trenton, New Jersey on September 16, 1941 and resided in Bordentown for most of his life and recently relocated with his Wife, Carol to Royersford, Pennsylvania to be closer to his Daughter Constance M. Koenig and Granddaughter, Courtney L. Morrison. Ed started his career in the fuel and home heating oil business with his Father, George Edward Koenig Sr., his Uncle, George Able, his Brother, Jack Koenig and late Cousin, George Able Jr. After the sale of their family business, he continued to serve his community as a Realtor in Columbus, New Jersey at Homestead Realty and prior to retiring, with Bell Realty in Bordentown.

He was a parishioner at St. Mary’s Church, then in his later years, becoming a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hamilton Church where his Wife, Carol was also a member. Upon their relocation to Pennsylvania, both he and his Wife, Carol became active members of Valley Forge Baptist Church in Collegeville, Pennsylvania until his passing.

Ed was the Chairman of Burlington County Military Affairs Committee, a member of the Board of Directors of Roma Bank, a member of the Bordentown Rotary Club, a member of the New Jersey Realtors Association, a member of the New Jersey Fuel Merchants Association and a volunteer fireman at Hope Hose Fire Company. Ed will long be remembered for his fishing and hunting trips, a huge Phillies fan and of course, and also known as Bordentown’s “Santa Claus” at Christmas time.

Ed is survived by his Wife, Carol, his Daughter, Connie, Granddaughter and personal medical provider, Courtney Morrison, RN, his Brother, Jack Koenig and Wife, Jane, his nieces Jenna and Janine, and many Sister and Brother In-Laws, nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
