Obituary

George D. Eaton of Columbus, NJ passed away on April 29, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Niskayuna, NY and growing up in Lawrence, NJ, George resided in Columbus, NJ for the last 42 years. George enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports and playing with his grandchildren, whom he adored. George retired after 25 years from The State of New Jersey, Department of Community Affairs where he served as the Supervisor of SLCHIP.

George is predeceased by his parents, George and Therese Eaton, sister Laurie Ogin, and brother Bryan Eaton.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Jean, and his children Jill (Dan), Sean (Suzie), and Laura (Bill), his sister Sharon, his grandchildren Olivia, Jadyn, Danny, Derek and Conor, and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law, cousins, friends, and neighbors.

George's family would like to thank Samaritan Hospice for their kind and compassionate assistance with his care during his final weeks.

Jean, Sean and family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of George. We worked together for years. He was much more than a worker to me. He was a great friend. May he rest in peace and may the good lord comfort you and your family during this difficult time.
