Obituary for Frank A. LaSala

Frank Anthony LaSala passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly,NJ.

Frank was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. He graduated from Rockford East High School in 1965 and was drafted into the U.S Army in 1966. Frank proudly served his country in Vietnam where he was awarded both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

After serving in the U.S.Army for three years, Frank was fortunate to work at Detroit Diesel Allison, a division of General Motors, for over 40 years until his retirement. He had many great experiences traveling around the country and making many friends along the way.

Frank was born with gas and oil in his veins having an incredible passion for car restoration since his youth. Over the years, he restored several cars with passion and precision. He could always be found in the garage with a wrench in his hand and a giant smile on his face.

Frank is survived and celebrated by his wife of 53 years Cynthia, his two sons Benjamin and Anthony, his five beautiful grandchildren who he loved and adored Alexis, Nickolas, Zoe, Camryn and Anthony along with his two wonderful daughter-in-laws Christine and Tara.

Frank touched many people with his generosity and kindness. He will be remembered fondly for his bravery, infectious smile, and passion for life.

Due to COVID restrictions the family has chosen to celebrate Frank’s life privately. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made in Frank’s name to the following institutions which provided him tremendous support during his five year health battle:

Samaritan Hospice
