Concetta “Connie” Gagliardi, age 77, passed away peacefully at RWJ Hamilton with her three loving daughters by her side after fighting a 26 day battle with Covid. She was finally reunited with the love of her life, her beloved husband Charlie after 7 ½ years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother to her 3 daughters, amazing grandmother and caring friend and will be missed by so many.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Charlie, her parents Josephine Viola and Francesco Carrello, her step dad Santo Forzese, as well as her sister Marie Sundgaard and her brothers Louis Luciano, Mario Carrello, Frank Carrello and Nino Carrello. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters and son-in laws, Ann & Forrest Koenig, Nicola & Andy Torbik and Jennifer & Bobby Santaniello, her adoring 7 grandchildren, Gunnar & Wyatt Koenig, Carrie & Sara Torbik and Victoria, Dominick & Francesca Santaniello, her sister Joanne Malkentzos, brothers and sister in law Julio Carrello and Paul & Jo Carrello as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1944, she moved to Old Bridge, NJ in 1976 and resided there until 2001, when she moved to Four Seasons in Columbus. Connie loved her community wholeheartedly and was very active there. Equally important was her church community and involvement at St Marys in Bordentown. Her catholic faith was a very important part of her life.
Connie’s greatest joys in life revolved around spending time with her family and friends. Whether it was celebrating special occasions and holidays, attending parties in her community, spending special time with her grandchildren or traveling the globe, she always had a bag packed or an adventure planned. Connie loved to sew as well as cook the most delicious Italian food that her family and friends thoroughly enjoyed.
Connie was a devoted stay at home mom who volunteered endless hours of her time to numerous organizations and those in need. She was the kindest, caring and most generous person and friend to all. Connie was a woman of strength, confidence, courage and most importantly love which was felt by all who were surrounded by her. She leaves behind a tremendous void to all who knew and loved her.
