Obituary for Chelsea Baranowski Milanese

On Friday, June 11, 2021, at the early age of 31 years old, Chelsea Milanese passed away peacefully. She was in the comfort of her home and arms of her husband while listening to their wedding song. In her final days and hours, she was surrounded by her loving family.

Chelsea grew up in Willow Grove, PA and attended school at Upper Moreland School District. In high school she moved to Long Island, NY and graduated from Ward Melville High School. Chelsea met her husband in August 2007 during their freshman year at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) and a year later they started dating. She was a sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. Chelsea and her husband bought a home in Bordentown, a neighborhood they quickly fell in love with, and in August 2018, Joey proposed at their favorite TCNJ pond. They were married in September 2019 and soon after Chelsea started an accelerated nursing program at Rutgers University. She had a 4.0 GPA and was due to graduate in May 2021.

Chelsea loved the beach, especially her favorite place in the world, Long Beach Island, and cherished yearly trips with her friends to Ocean City, MD. She enjoyed taking walks in the park with her dogs Gremlin, Primrose, and Tickle; her husband’s cooking; and good wine. She admired nature and science, often watching documentaries and taking time to appreciate even the smallest wonders of life.

Chelsea had a way of making an impression on anyone she encountered and brightening their day. The love and bond between her and her husband, who always referred to each other as “Dinosaur”, was truly special. She was a loyal friend, caring member of her family, devoted wife, and a selfless, humble, and fearless woman. This world will miss her dearly.

Loving wife of almost two years (and partner for nearly 13 years) to Joseph. Devoted daughter of Robert Baranowski and Judith Kessler. Devoted stepdaughter to Melissa Baranowski, Stephen Kessler, and the late Jimmy Werynski. Beloved daughter-in-law to Joseph and Denise Milanese. Dear sister of Robert Jr., Seth, and Sydney Baranowski, half-sister of Drew and Bryce Baranowski, stepsister of Ryan Nelson (Randy), Derry Albert, Devon Rushforth (James), Alexi Kessler and Sarah Kessler, and sister-in-law of Michael and Alyssa Milanese. She is also survived by her close family and relatives, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to Chelsea’s celebration of life on Tuesday June 15, 2021, 6 to 9 PM at Bordentown Home for Funerals, 40 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ 08505 and also on Wednesday June 16, 2021, 9:30 AM, at Bordentown Home for Funerals followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 AM at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 45 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown NJ 08505. Luncheon to follow.

All family and friends are also invited (and highly encouraged) to attend The Gala to Celebrate the Life of Chelsea, Our Dinosaur (casual dress) 6 to 10 PM at the Hope Hose Humane Co. No. 1, 150 W Burlington St, Bordentown, NJ 08505. There will be pizza, music, and BYOB drinks (whatever you liked to drink with Chelsea) to celebrate and remember Chelsea’s life.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Chelsea’s name be made to Livestrong Fertility, a charity dedicated to directly supporting survivors whose cancer and its treatment present risks to their fertility. Chelsea fearlessly underwent fertility preservation in the days following her diagnosis to preserve embryos for her future family, and the Livestrong Foundation provided medications necessary to make that happen.

Contributions can be made to Livestrong Fertility via check sent to Livestrong Foundation, 623 W 38th St STE 300, Austin, TX 78705 as well as their website. Please note in the comments that the contributions are for the Fertility Program in memory of Chelsea Milanese.
