Obituary for Charlie N Black

Charles N. Black was called home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022, at Deborah Heart and Lung Center, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Trenton on January 6, 1950, he was a long-time resident of the Bordentown Community.

Charles attended Glassboro State College and graduated with a BA in education. He was employed as a Senior Corrections Weapons Training Officer with the NJ Department of Corrections. Charles retired in 2003 after 27 years of dedicated service. After his retirement, Charles began his second career as a bus driver for the Bordentown School System. He enjoyed the drives to and from school and he was loved by the many students he transported.

An avid lover of sports; Charles enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, softball, and especially golf. He was a member of the Life Spring City Church. He enjoyed spending his time studying the word of God and conducted small group bible studies for many years. He was passionate about his faith and his country. He was known for his ability to speak the word of God from his heart and he loved sharing his faith with others. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, a caring friend, and he loved his dogs. He will be greatly missed by so many.

The son of the late Edward and Julia Black, he is predeceased by his siblings, Faith O’Neil, David Black, Edward Black, and Reese Black. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marie E. Black, his daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Jon Barnes, his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Charlene Black, his grandchildren, Charlie, Elijah, Julia, Luke and Mary Black.
