Obituary

Dateline Yardville
Barbara Ann Bakerman Connallon, 78, of Yardville, NJ entered into eternal rest on Wednesday March 24, 2021.

Barbara was the devoted wife of her loving husband, Robert William Connallon of 56 years. She is (also) survived by their children, Robert Michael and his wife, Janis of Kensington, CA, Steven Craig and his wife, Lisa of Jackson, NJ, and daughter, Karen Elaine of Yardville, along with grandchildren, Andrew John, Grace Karen and Claire Elizabeth who all added so much joy to her life.

Barbara was born in New York City, the only child of her doting parents, Pauline ( Carella) and Sam Bakerman. In marrying into the Connallon family, Barbara acquired a large and loving family including survivingbrothers and sisters-in-law, Margaret DeAngelo, James and Mary Connallon, Richard and Micki Connallon, Donald Connallon and Patricia Figaro, Michael and Catherine Connallon, Martin and Regina Connallon, Katherine Sturma, Mary and Louis Memmolo, Patricia MacFee, Jean and Jim Silver, Betty and John McKernan. She is also survived by her beloved godchild, Colleen Connallon-Lindert and her spouse Chris, as well as many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Her “adopted” family provided Barbara with many happy memories filled with fun and laughter. She is also survived by cousins from both the Bakerman and Carella sides of her family.

Barbara attended Cathedral High School and the Katherine Gibbs School in New York and worked in the office of the President of C.V. Starr & Co in NY and retired after twenty years from PNC ( formerly Midlantic) Bank in East Brunswick NJ in 2006.

She moved to Roselle, NJ after her marriage to Robert in 1964, and they remained there until they relocated to the Village Grande in Yardville, NJ in 2003.

Barbara was a member of St. Joseph the Carpenter Church in Roselle and was also a volunteer at St. Joseph’s School and in the Cub, Boy, Brownie and Girl Scout organizations in Roselle. She also participated in the activities of the Knights of Columbus Council #3946.

She shared her lust for travel with Bob and daughter Karen, and together they experienced many wonderful trips, favoring European tours and cruises. She very much enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was an avid bargain shopper and liked visiting the Borgata and Parx Casinos, where she was a generous contributor.

After settling in Yardville, she and Bob became members of St. Mary’s Church in Bordentown.

Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, 100 people at a time will be allowed in the funeral home. Masks must be worn, and social distancing must be practiced when possible. A speaker is outside for those wishing to listen outside during the service.
