Anni Belonzi passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2020, surrounded by her husband, son and grandchildren, after a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer.
Anni was born in Wendlingen, Germany, on November 7, 1930, the daughter of Eugene and Wilhelmine Schad. She is survived by Albert Belonzi, her husband of 68 years, her sister Vera Riehle, her sister-in-law Klara Schad, her son Raimund, and her grandchildren Alison and Alexander, along with cousins, nieces and nephews residing in Germany. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother and her daughter-in-law Nancy Belonzi.
Anni met the love of her life Al, when he was stationed in Germany in 1951, and she moved with him to the United States in 1955. After traveling between the United States and Germany, they settled in Bordentown in 1967.
Anni was an extraordinary homemaker with exceptional baking and cooking skills. She was also meticulously neat-everything was always in its place! Her life view was always positive; if adversity would strike, she would advocate to just take one day at a time.
Anni worked for the Goldman family for over 50 years and was a devoted, beloved friend who was considered a member of the Goldman family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Research Institute or to the Franklin Fire Company Number 1, Columbus, N.J.
Friends may pay their respects on Monday, June 15th at the Bordentown Home for Funerals located at 40 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, NJ. , between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
An 11 AM service will follow by Pastor Neill Tolboom of Hedding United Methodist Church.
Interment will be at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery in North Hanover Township, NJ, but due to COVID 19, there will be no graveside service.
